Network Telephonic Case Manager — Carrollton, TX (Two Open Positions)
The case manager provides medical and vocational assistance and coordination services to assist injured workers in reaching maximum medical improvement and return to work. The case manager facilitates communication between all parties including the injured worker, the adjuster, the employer, treating physician(s) and ancillary providers to assist the injured worker in obtaining prompt and appropriate medical treatment. The case manager assesses rehabilitation needs and makes appropriate recommendations. The case manager facilitates any temporary or permanent job modifications necessary to allow the injured worker to return to work within the applicable physical restrictions assigned by the doctor. The exact role the case manager plays will vary with the injury management model used by each customer.
Current valid license in State of Texas
Prefer CCM, CRN, CDMS, CRC, COHN or an equivalent certification that meets requirements
Workers’ compensation experience
Familiar with evidence based guidelines
Utilization Review Nurse – Carrollton, TX or Houston, TX (Two Open Positions)
Review patient medical records with a work-related injury to make a determination on medical necessity for services requiring preauthorization. Must adhere to and meet state regulated guidelines and mandated timeframes. Must have at least 5 years experience working in the area of Workers’ Compensation which may include Case Management, Orthopedic Nursing and/or Utilization Review experience. Requires a degree in nursing from an accredited school or university.
Current valid nursing license in State of Texas
Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 codes and medical terminology
Prefer experience working in the area of Workers’ Compensation which may include case management, orthopedic nursing and/or utilization review experience
Preauthorization Intake Clerical Assistant – Houston, TX
Collect clinical data to support the request in order to forward the file for nurse review. Compile, process and maintain medical records of injured employees in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory requirement of the health care system. Relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the medical field. Batch, review and triage incoming faxes, data entry, email notifications to clients, prepare letters, general admin responsibilities, answer and route incoming calls and general voicemail coverage for department.
High School graduate or equivalent
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Skilled in Word Processing and computer usage
Medical Bill Reviewers — Carrollton, TX or Houston, TX
Prepares and compiles medical provider bill data for Workers’ Compensation clients. Candidate must be proficient in computer skills, operating a calculator, and ten-key by touch. Have knowledge of CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 and HCPC codes along with commonly used concepts and practices in WC medical bill review and demonstrate a higher level understanding for complex bills including hospital and surgeries. Complete a minimum of 125 paper claims or 100 KFI (Key From Image) medical provider bills on average per day, and maintain a monthly average of 98% medical bill accuracy rate in QA reporting. Type minimum of 40 WPM. Primary job functions may require exercising independent judgment. High School graduate or equivalent.
Field Case Manager — Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, San Antonio
Provides medical and vocational assistance to support injured employees in reaching maximum medical improvement and return to work. Facilitates communication between all parties including the employee, adjuster, employer, treating physician(s) and ancillary providers to assist in obtaining prompt and appropriate medical treatment. The case manager assesses rehabilitation needs and makes appropriate recommendations. Responsible for managing files following IMO protocols and in compliance with client directives. Locations throughout Texas are currently needed.
